How to Tell if Your Naples Pool May Be Leaking
Published 2025-02-15
Southwest Florida sun and wind cause every uncovered pool to lose some water to evaporation. Before you consider a leak detection specialist, take 24 hours to check whether it's just evaporation.
The bucket test is a common approach. Fill a 5-gallon bucket with pool water, place it on the top step so it's partially submerged, mark the water level inside the bucket and on the pool wall, then compare after 24 hours (with the pump running normally).
If both drop by a similar amount, evaporation is the likely cause. If the pool drops noticeably more, a leak is possible — consider scheduling a professional leak detection.
