Hurricane Prep for Naples Pool Owners

Published 2025-02-15

Never fully drain your pool before a hurricane. The water weight helps hold the shell in place against groundwater pressure.

Lower the water level to accommodate rainfall, shut off electricity to the equipment at the breaker, protect the pump and heater from windblown debris, and secure loose furniture away from the pool.

After the storm, don't turn equipment back on until the pad is dry and the pump hasn't been submerged. Skim debris continuously and shock the pool to handle organic contamination.
