Pool Electrical Safety: What Homeowners Should Know

Pool light and pump circuits should be GFCI-protected. Test GFCI outlets periodically per manufacturer directions.
Bonding — a bare copper wire connecting metal pool parts — helps prevent voltage differences. It must be intact.
If you feel any tingle in the water, get out immediately and contact a licensed pool electrician.
